Brazil and Switzerland face off in a World Cup Group G soccer showdown at Stadium 974 in Ras Abu Aboud.
Brazil comes into this game tied for 1st place in the group, having picked three points. Brazil opened up their World Cup against Serbia, and they were able to secure a 2-0 victory. Brazil had 59 percent of the possession and nine shots on goal. Richarlison scored in the 62nd and 73rd minute for Brazil. Brazil might have won that first game, but they had some terrible news coming out of it. Neymar is dealing with an ankle injury, and he has already been ruled out for the rest of the group stage. Danilo is dealing with an injury and has also been ruled out for the rest of the group stage. In this game, Brazil knows it’s a tougher matchup, but they still need to push the numbers forward.
On the other side of this matchup is Switzerland, who sits in second place in the group having picked up three points. On Thursday, against Cameroon, Switzerland finished with one goal, and that was enough for the victory. Switzerland had 51 percent of the possession and three shots on target. Breei Embolo scored in the 48th minute, and that was enough to secure the victory. Fabian Schar has been moved to the bench, although he could come in late as a substitute. Denis Zakaria is another option that could come off the bench, but he wasn’t used in the first game for Switzerland.
The loss of Neymar is a big loss for Brazil, and that is going to hurt their offense. Switzerland is a great defensive team, and I think they slow down Brazil. I don’t see Switzerland having a lot of scoring chances, though, and that will lead to this game being lower scoring. Look for a 0-0 or 1-0 type of game, and this game will stay under the total. Back the under to cash here.
