Brentford vs. Leeds United 5/22/22 EPL Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Brentford is hosting a desperate Leeds team at Brentford Community Stadium in round 38 of the English Premier League. Brentford doesn’t need anything from this game, but they have been playing well, and they are on a 2-game winning streak. Leeds is in the relegation zone, but with a win here, or maybe even a draw, Leeds could stay in the EPL for next season as well.

Brentford is now in 11th place with 46 points, and even though they could move a couple of spots up or down in the standings, nothing will change because they are way too far from any of the European competitions, and the relegation zone as well. Overall, this was a pretty good season for Brentford, they were competitive, they have beaten some strong teams, and they were under no pressure from the relegation. Toney is the leading goalscorer for Brentford with 12 goals, while Mbuemo added 7 assists. Brentford has been slightly better on the road than at home this season, but I think they are a great team that has a completely different philosophy than most of the other clubs. Brentford is doing something similar to the Moneyball, and it’s been working quite nicely for them, I just hope they can keep it up for next season as well.

As I’ve mentioned, Leeds is in desperate need of a win, and even that win might not be enough for them to stay in the league. Leeds is now in 18th place with 35 points, which is the same as Burnley above them. Even if Leeds gets the win here, that doesn’t mean they are safe because Burnley would need to drop points. In case both teams lose their games, Leeds will be relegated. Leeds has been through a lot this season, they have had a ton of injuries, and they still do, but maybe they will get lucky enough to stay in the league. Defensively, only 1 team has been worse than Leeds, and not by a lot, and that was Norwich. Offensively, Leeds has been the best of all teams at the bottom of the table, but that didn’t do much good. Raphinha has been carrying this team with 10 goals, while James added 4 assists. Leeds is desperate, but that might make them dangerous, and they better be because they will get relegated otherwise.

Leeds hasn’t won any of their last 5 games, while Brentford hasn’t lost to Leeds in their last 7 home games. It’s clear Brentford is the better team here, but Leeds will attack, and they might get the draw here.
