Burnley vs. Aston Villa 5/7/22 EPL Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Burnley is hosting Aston Villa at Turf Moor in round 36 of the English Premier League. Burnley is on a nice streak of 4 games without a loss, and with that, they have exited the relegation zone, which doesn’t mean they are safe. Aston Villa was never in danger of getting relegated, but they did have hopes to qualify for Europe, hopes that are now gone.

Burnley is now in 16th place, which is 2 spots above the relegation zone but only by 2 points. Burnley has a decent schedule until the end of the season, but the way they are playing right now, Burnley can definitely expect some points. Offensively, we haven’t seen much from Burnley, just 31 goals in 34 games, but their defense was decent throughout the season with only 4 conceded goals so far. Cornet is the leading goalscorer for Burnley with only 7 goals, and as I’ve mentioned, no offense for Burnley. Burnley has stepped up lately, and it was just on time for them to get out of the relegation zone, but a lot can change in their last 4 games, and we will see if they are good enough to stay in the league.

Aston Villa hasn’t lost any of their last 2 games, which is good news, but they have also won only 1 of their last 6 games, which is not good news. Luckily for Villa, they are above the relegation zone, by far, and they are now in 19th place with 40 points. Aston Villa has to improve their offense, and they probably will next season. Watkins is the leading goalscorer for Aston Villa with 9 goals, while Ings added 6 goals and 6 assists. Until the end, Aston Villa still has to play against Liverpool and Manchester City, which are both incredibly hard games, but they are also playing against Burnley twice, and I think they can expect some good results as well. Hause, Sanson, and Bailey are all injured. Aston Villa has hired a good coach, but now it’s time to start working on a roster for next season, and I’m sure they will have their hands full in Aston Villa this offseason.

Burnley is in excellent form, while Villa is moving in the right direction. Burnley is outside the relegation zone now, but only 1 loss could drop them back in it. The competition for survival in the EPL is strong this season, and I’m sure every team has a case to stay in the EPL, but in their current form, I see Burnley staying outside the relegation zone. I think this game could go either way, which is why I’m taking goals.
