Denmark vs. Finland 6/12/21 Euro Cup 2021 Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Denmark is hosting Finland at Parken in Copenhagen in round 1 of Group B in the Euro Cup 2021. Denmark is a fantastic team, and they have lost only 1 of their last 12 games. Finland got lucky to qualify for the Euro Cup, but their form has declined since then, and Finland hasn’t won any of their last 6 games.

It’s hard to say which part of the Danish team is better, but they are a well-balanced team, and they might very well be the dark horse of this competition. Denmark is not in a strong World Cup qualifications group, but to score 14 goals in 3 games is still impressive. In their last game against Bosnia at home, Denmark was the better team, they were defending well, and they have deservedly won this match 2-0. Denmark is in a group with Belgium, Russia, and Finland, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually end up at the top of this group. With Braithwaite and Poulsen in the offense, Eriksen, and Hojbjerg in the midfield, and Christiansen and Kjaer on the defensive end, Denmark looks really well, and when you add Schmeichel on goal, it’s understandable why Denmark is the dark horse of this competition.

As I’ve said earlier, Finland has done really well in the Euro Cup qualifications where they ended up in second place, but they haven’t been playing well lately, and I just don’t see them getting past the group stage in this competition. In their last 3 games, Finland has 3 losses during which they scored only 2 goals while conceding 6 goals, and their most recent loss was against Estonia, which is just terrible. There are a few good players in Finland’s roster, starting with Pukki and Pohjanpalo, but that’s about it what Finland can offer. Finland is in a group with Belgium, Russia, and Denmark, and I suppose there is a case to be made here that Finland could end in second place or possibly as one of the best third-placed teams, but they will need to play a lot better soccer, especially on the defensive end. During the Euro Cup qualifications, Finland has scored a lot of goals, and that has somewhat continued in the first few World Cup qualifications, but in their last 3 games, Finland is far from that goalscoring form. I think Finland is happy to even be in the Euro Cup, but I don’t think they will get past the group stage.

Denmark has never lost to Finland in the past, and they are a much better team here. Denmark will have the home crowd on their side in this match, and that will help them a lot. Denmark is a well-balanced team, they have a good offense, and I see them winning this game at the start of the Euro Cup.
