Dinamo Zagreb and Sevilla face off on Thursday in the second leg of their Group of 16 showdowns at Stadion Maksimir.
When these two teams faced off last Thursday it was Sevilla that won 3-1. Sevilla had 63 percent of the possession and six shots on target. They opened the scoring in the 13th with a penalty kick, and added two more goals in the last few minutes of the first half. Mislav Orsic did score a goal in the 41st minute for Dinamo Zagreb.
Coming into that game last Thursday, Sevilla hadn’t been scoring a ton of goals, and even in their last game on Sunday, against Espanol they only scored one goal. They had 57 percent of the possession but they only had two shots on goal. Sevilla has scored 37 goals total while their defense has given up 17 goals in La Liga. Rafa Mir has been the top player this season scoring eight goals. In this game with a big lead, already on aggregate, it wouldn’t be shocking if they play a defense first style. If they do give up one goal though there would be a lot of pressure to not give up anymore.
On the other side of this matchup is Dinamo Zagreb who still have a lot of work to do if they want to advance to the quarterfinals. On Sunday they faced off with NK Lokomotiva and the offense couldn’t find the back of the net. They had 63 percent of the possession but only three shots on target, and in this game they are going to need to find a way to push numbers forward. They need to take chances so there will be scoring chances for Sevilla.
Dinamo Zagreb is going to push numbers forward, and that is going to lead to scoring chances for Sevilla. Even though Sevilla will be in a defensive shape they are going to take advantage of these scoring chances, and put one or two of them in the back of the net. Back Sevilla to win this game on the money line.
