Estonia vs. Malta 9/23/22 Nations League Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Estonia vs. Malta face off on Friday in a League D Group 2 UEFA Nations League game at A. Le Coq Arena. These two teams faced off on June 9th, and it was Estonia that secured the 2-1 victory.

Estonia currently sits in second place in the standings, having picked up six points. In the last game against Albania, Estonia scored zero goals, and that was the difference as the game ended in a 0-0 draw. In the last game against Malta, Estonia scored a goal in the 94th minute, and that led to the three points. Maksim Paskotsi hasn’t been included with Estonia’s squad, and that means there will be some changes with the starting lineup. It looks like Marten Kuusk will be the guy who will move into the starting lineup.

On the other side of this matchup is Malta, and they sit tied for first place in the standings having picked up six points. Their last game came against San Marino, and they were able to score one goal on the way to the victory. Malta had five shots on target, and they had 73 percent of the possession. They didn’t allow San Marino to put a shot on goal, and it was a very comfortable victory. For Malta, the big question heading into this game is whether they will change their shape. If Malta uses wingers in this game, it looks like Jodi Jones could get the start in this game.

The last time these two teams played, it was Estonia that secured the 2-1 victory. I’m not sure if there will be three goals scored again in this game, but it’s going to be Estonia that is going to get the job done. Malta isn’t going to even get on the board here, and Estonia will secure the victory.
