Fulham and Liverpool face off on Saturday in their first English Premier League showdown at Craven Cottage. When these two teams faced off in March 2021 it was Fulham that secured the 1-0 victory.
Two years ago, Fulham was relegated to the Championship, but they didn’t stay for long. Fulham finished in 1st place in the Championship, putting up 90 points, and that led to them being promoted back to the EPL. It’s going to be tough to stay up, but they hope they can do enough to stay out of the relegation zone. This Fulham team looks a lot like the one that was able to get back to the Premier League. Aleksandar Mitrovic is back with the team, and he was impressive last year, putting up 43 goals in 44 matches played. One of the big key additions to this team is Fabio Carvalho, who played last year with Liverpool.
On the other side of this matchup is Liverpool, who finished last year in second place in the Premier League, but the goal this year is to get back to the top. Liverpool is again one of the most talented clubs in the world led by Mohamed Salah who is one of the best players in the world. Liverpool also has a ton of confidence heading into this season because of how they have looked leading up to the season. Two games ago, in the FA Community Shield Final against Manchester City, Liverpool was able to win 3-1. They were actually out shot in that game, but there was never really any doubt that they would win.
I think Fulham has a team that might surprise some people this year, but I don’t think they are going to have much of a shot in this game. Liverpool just has too much offensive firepower, and Fulham’s defense isn’t going to have a lot of answers. Look for Liverpool to score at least three goals, and they will win -1.5. I also like the over to cash, and that is the perfect same-game parlay here.
