Isloch vs. Shakhtar Soligorsk 8/21/20 Vysshaya League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Isloch is welcoming Shakhtar Soligorsk to KFP Minsk in round 22 of the Belarus Vysshaya League.

Isloch is on a nice 3-game winning streak in the Vysshaya League, and with those 9 points, Isloch has climbed the standings to 5th place where they have 32 points, 29 scored goals, and 29 conceded goals. Neither their offense nor defense are particularly good, but most of the teams are having the same problems in the Vysshaya League, and Isloch is amongst the best of them. In their last Vysshaya League game against Vitebsk on the road, Isloch has had 39% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 0 corner kicks, and 14 free kicks. This was a fun game and the one where Isloch had more luck. Isloch was able to win this match 2-3 for a precious three points on the road. Makas is Isloch’s top goalscorer with 7 goals, Yanush has scored 6 goals for Isloch so far this season, while Komarovski and Yansane added 5 goals each. Isloch is in a good form, but they are facing the leader of the Vysshaya League this weekend, while the next weekend, Isloch is playing in the Belarus Cup against Dnepr Mogliev. Isloch is now close to the Europa League, but I think it’s still out of their reach as Isloch doesn’t have the quality or depth to get there.

Shakhtar is playing in fantastic form, and the last game they lost was back on April 17th. With 43 points, 3 points above Bate Borisov, Shakhtar is at the top of the Vysshaya League, but more importantly, their defense has been absolutely brilliant with only 9 conceded goals in 21 games, the best defense by far. Offensively, Shakhtar has been the second-best team in the Vysshaya League with massive 36 scored goals. Lisakovich has been Shakhtar’s top goalscorer with 9 goals, but he has been sold to Lokomotiv Moscow and is no longer at the club. Podstrelov has added 7 goals, and he is expected to be in the lineup for this match. In their latest Vysshaya League match against Dynamo Brest at home, Shakhtar was the better team with 55% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 9 corner kicks, and 14 free kicks. With a late goal in the 79th minute, Shakhtar has won this match 1-0. Last season Shakhtar ended in third place, just 10 points away from the title, and even though their defense was good last season, it’s much better this season, and if they can keep winning, or at least not losing any games, Shakhtar just might win the title this season in front of Bate Borisov.

Isloch is in good form and they are scoring a decent amount of goals, but Shakhtar has been in good form for a while now. Shakhtar’s away record this season is 5-5-0, while Isloch hasn’t won any of their last 4 games against Shakhtar. I think we could see some goals here, but I will take a safer option, and that is Shakhtar to win.
