KRC Genk and West Ham face off on Thursday in a UEFA Europa League group league showdown at Cristal Arena.
These two teams just faced off on October 21st, and it was West Ham that came away with the 3-0 victory. West Ham didn’t score a goal until late in the first half, but in the second half they poured it on. West Ham finished the game with four shots on target while Genk finished two shots on goal.
West Ham currently sits in 1st place in the standings having picked up nine points so far in the group stage. West Ham looks like a team that could compete for a Europa League title, Overall West Ham has scored five goals total, and during that stretch of games they have given up only one goal total. That one goal was given up in the last game against Aston Villa, but the offense did score four goals. Ben Johnson opened up the scoring in that game scoring in the 7th minute, and they never looked book as they cruised to the victory.
On the other side of this matchup is Genk who have picked up three points which puts them in last place in the standings. K.R.C. Genk has been a bit inconsistent this season, but in each of the last two games they have played better. Two games ago against Winkel Sport, Genk won 6-0 and in the last game against Zulte Waregem, they won 6-2. Bryan Heynen was the top player scoring two goals.
