Leeds United and Everton face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at Elland Road. The last time these two teams faced off was in early February and it was Everton that won 2-1. .
Leeds United had some struggles heading into this season, and in the first game of the EPL season, they really struggled. In the first game against Manchester United, Leeds United’s defense really struggled giving up five goals and that led to the four-goal defeat. The only goal scoring by Leeds United was done by Luke Ayling who put a goal in the back of the net in the 49th minute. Leeds United gave up three goals to Bruno Fernandes in that last game. Leeds United managed three shots on goal while allowing Manchester United to put eight shots on goal. In this game, if Leeds United wants to win, the defense is going to need to be a whole lot better.
On the other side of this matchup is Everton who faced off with Southampton in their first game of the season, Everton was actually down 1-0 at the break, but they had a big second half with three goals scored and that led to the victory. Richarlison opened up the scoring in the 47th minute and then they never looked back as Abdoulaye Doucoure and Dominic Calvert-Lewin also added goals. Everton finished the game with 14 shots but only six of them went on goal. Everton was able to complete 337 passes and in this game it’s going to be important that they push numbers forward in this game.
Everton is the better team but I don’t trust them not to give up a couple of goals in this game. Look for both teams to find offensive success early in this game, and the over will cash with ease.
