Legia Warsaw and Leicester City face off on Thursday in a key Europa League group stage showdown at the Polish Army Stadium.
Legia Warsaw currently sits in first place in the Group C standings with three points picked up. Back on September 15th, they faced off with Spartak Moscow and Legia Warsaw won 1-0. Lirim Kastrati hit the game-winner in the 91st minute. They were actually outplayed most of the game, including allowing 23 shots, but they scored the goal and picked up the three points, which is all that really matters. Since that point, they have won two of their last three games, but they were defeated in the last game against Rakow 3-2. Over the last three games, Legia Warsaw has scored eight goals total, and in this game, it’s going to be important that the offense gets out to a strong start.
On the other side of this matchup is Leicester City who currently sit in 3rd place in the standings with one point. Leicester City opened up their Europa League against Napoli and played to a 2-2 draw. They actually went up 2-0 in that game, but then Napoli scored two goals in the 69th and 87th minute, which led to the defeat. Wilfred Ndidi also picked up a red card in the 93rd minute, and won’t be allowed to play in this game. Since that game. Leicester City has had one win, one draw, and one loss. In the last game against Burnley, Jamie Vardy scored two goals, and one of those goals came in the 85th minute to escape with the draw.
I know Leicester City has had some struggles, but they are still the much better team in this game. Legia Warsaw struggled to score in the last game and that is going to let them down against Leicester City. Leicester City is going to score a couple of goals early and they will win this game on the money line.
