Manchester United and Tottenham are clashing at Old Trafford in round 29 of the English Premier League. United has been so hot and cold this season it’s amazing how they are still in the Champions League spot. Tottenham has now won their last 2 games in a row in the EPL, but they have also been very inconsistent this season.
In their last 3 games, United doesn’t have a single win, while they have also gotten embarrassed against Manchester City in their last game. There is an important Champions League matchup ahead for United where they will face Atletico Madrid, but the good news is they are playing at home. Another good news for United is they don’t have any injuries right now, but the situation in the club is not the best with Ronaldo not wanting to participate in their last EPL game. With 9 goals each, Ronaldo and Fernandes are the leading goalscorers for United, while Pogba has added 9 assists. In the EPL, United is now in 5th place, which is the Champions League playoff spot, but I’m pretty sure they would love to be in that 4th place that will take them straight into the group stage of the Champions League.
Tottenham has 3 wins in their last 5 games, while they have lost the other 2 games during that stretch. In the EPL, Tottenham has won 3 of their last 4, and they were absolutely amazing against Everton last weekend. In that game, Tottenham was dominant, they were creating chances, and in the end, they have won that game 5-0. Son has scored 11 goals and added 5 assists for Tottenham this season, while Kane has added 10 goals Skipp and Tanganga are injured, while Moura is still questionable. Tottenham is playing only in the EPL for the rest of the season, and I think that is a good thing because they are not consistent enough to play in multiple competitions. With Conte at the helm, Tottenham will surely improve, and signs of that are already visible, but they are not there yet. There is a lot of work to be done by Tottenham this season and in the offseason, but they are moving in the right direction.
The trends are heavily on United’s side in this matchup, but with a big Champions League game ahead of them, I think they could lose this one. Tottenham has been inconsistent yes, but I think this is a good spot for them to get the win.
