Newcastle United and AFC Bournemouth face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at St. James Park.
Newcastle comes into this game sitting in 11th place in the standings having picked up seven points. In his last game against Crystal Palace, Newcastle couldn’t get on the board, but the defense was good and that led to a 0-0 draw. Newcastle had 52 percent of the possession and six shots on target, but they weren’t able to find the back of the net. Two games ago against Liverpool they were defeated 2-1. Allan Saint-Maximin and Bruno Guimaraes are both working back from injury, but there is hope that both players will be able to go in this game. The bad news though is that Callum Wilson is still banged up, and he will be out for at least a couple of weeks.
On the other side of this matchup is AFC Bournemouth who sit in 13th place having picked up seven points. Bournemouth’s last game came against Nottingham Forest, and they scored three goals on the way to the victory. They had only 47 percent of the possession and three shots on goal, but it was enough to secure the win. Junior Stanislas is back with the team, and it’s expected that he should be able to go in this game. Ben Pearson and Joe Rothwell however are both still dealing with injuries, and it’s not expected that they will be back until after the team returns from the international break.
Newcastle looks to be getting healthy at the right time, and the reinforcements in this game should be a big boost for this team. Look for Newcastle to score a couple of goals and Bournemouth is going to have no answer. Back Newcastle -1 to cash here.
