Norwich City is hosting Chelsea at Carrow Road in round 30 of the English Premier League. Norwich is once again on a big losing streak, and there is barely any hope left for them to stay in the league. Chelsea is playing better and better with every game, and it’s just in time for their Champions League game next week.
There is not much to say about Norwich City anymore, they are the weakest offensive team in the league, while also being one of the worst defensive teams in the league as well. This combination is deadly, but not for Norwich’s opponents. With only 17 points, only 16 scored goals, and a massive 58 conceded goals, Norwich is now in last place in the EPL standings. Don’t get me wrong, there is still time for Norwich to get out of the relegation zone, but they would need to make a huge turn towards the better, and it’s hard to imagine that could happen. Pukki is the leading goalscorer for Norwich with 7 goals. Honestly, I know EPL is far more prestigious than the Championship, but I think Norwich doesn’t mind going down where they will be more competitive.
Chelsea is now on a 2-game winning streak during which they scored 7 goals, and in their last EPL game, they were even able to keep a clean sheet. With 53 points, Chelsea is in 3rd place in the EPL, but they are far away from the top of the table. Overall, Chelsea is a solid team on both ends, and defensively, they are probably the best team in the league. In the Champions League, Chelsea is playing in the second leg against Lille, but they have won the first leg 2-0. With only 7 goals, Mason Mount is the leading goalscorer for Chelsea, while Jorginho has added 6 goals. Not having a striker capable of scoring 15 plus goals is a problem, but Chelsea has a bunch of players who can score at least 10 goals per season, and it might enough for the top 4. Chilwell is now the only injured player for Chelsea. Chelsea might not be able to get to the top 2 in the EPL, but they can certainly drop out of the top 4, and that wouldn’t be a good thing.
Norwich has had very little success against Chelsea, and that won’t change in this game. Chelsea is in so much better form than Norwich is, and I think they will get a win here, the only question is by how much.
