Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur face off on Sunday in an English Premier League showdown at City Ground. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2014 and Tottenham secured the 3-1 victory.
Nottingham Forest comes into this game sitting in 14th place having picked up four points. The goal for Nottingham is to stay up in the Premier League, and they have played pretty well to start the season. Nottingham struggled in the first game, giving up two goals, and that led to the defeat. Since that game, they have knocked off West Ham United and played to a 1-1 draw in the last game against Everton. Nottingham did play a midweek game against Grimbsy Town in the EFL Cup, and Nottingham was able to secure 3-0 victory. In that last game, Nottingham made 11 changes, but most expect them to start the same 11 that played to a 1-1 draw against Everton.
On the other side of this matchup is Tottenham Hotspur, who sit in 5th place in the standings having picked up seven points. So far this season, Tottenham has wins over Southampton and the Wolves, and to a 2-2 draw against Chelsea. In the last game against the Wolves, the defense was quite impressive, but they probably felt like they could have scored a few more goals. Tottenham allowed 20 shots, but only three went on target, and none went in the back of the net. Tottenham is going to be without Cristian Romero, who is dealing with a slight injury. Oliver Skipp, Lucas Moura, and Bryan Gil are all expected to not make the trip for this game. Even though Tottenham are a bit banged up, anything less than a comfortable victory would be disappointing.
I expect Nottingham Forest to really go in a defensive shape here, and they will try to slow down the Tottenham offense. I do expect Nottingham to struggle to score against this Tottenham defense that looked excellent in the last game. Look for this game to be lower scoring and the under 2.5 is going to cash.
