Paris Saint-Germain is welcoming Dijon to Parc des Princes in round 8 in the French Ligue 1.

PSG has been unstoppable in Ligue 1 as of late, and they have won 5 straight games while scoring 14 goals during that stretch. Defensively, PSG was also fantastic with only 1 conceded goal. Earlier this week, PSG was hosting Manchester United in the Champions League, and they ended up losing that game 1-2. PSG is in second place in the Ligue 1 standings with 15 points, 16 scored goals, and 3 conceded goals. Mbappe is the leading goalscorer for PSG with 4 goals and 3 assists, while Neymar added 2 goals and 1 assist. Kehrer, Bernat, Icardi, and Verratti are all injured, Kurzawa and Di Maria are suspended because of the red cards, while Marquinhos is suspended because of the yellow cards. In their last Ligue 1 match against Nimes on the road, PSG has had massive 76% of ball possession, 11 shots on goal, 9 corner kicks, 5 big chances created, and 89% of the correct passes. It took a while for PSG to score a goal, but once they did, the game was over. PSG has won this match 0-4. If PSG will stay healthy, they will most likely win another title in Ligue 1, but as far as the Champions League goes, I don’t see PSG reaching the finals once again this season.

Dijon is the weakest team in Ligue 1 this season, and they are in the last place in the standings with 2 points, only 4 scored goals, and 14 conceded goals in 7 games. Dijon is still winless this season, and it doesn’t look like their first win will come anytime soon. In their latest Ligue 1 game against Rennais at home, Dijon has had 39% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, 2 big chances created, and 78% of the correct passes. Dijon was losing 0-1 at half time, but they tied the score in the 53rd minute. The final result of this game was 1-1. Balde, Scheidler, Ecuele, and Ebimbe have all scored 1 goal for Dijon this season, while Celina added 2 assists. Benzia, Amalfitano, and Assale are all injured, and they will not be in the lineup for this match. After narrowly escaping the relegation last season, I don’t think Dijon will be so lucky this season because they are playing terrible soccer on both ends, and this will be a long and hard season for Dijon.

Dijon hasn’t won any of their last 8 games, and they have lost all three of their games on the road this season. PSG has been dominant against Dijon at home, and in the 6 home games against Dijon, PSG hasn’t conceded a single goal, while scoring 24 goals. Despite PSG playing a game earlier this week, and again next week in the Champions League, I’m siding with them in this game.
