PSG vs. Stade Rennais 2/11/22 Ligue 1 Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

PSG is hosting Stade Rennais at Parc des Princes in round 24 of the French Ligue 1. PSG has demolished Lille last weekend, and they have looked well doing it, but now they need to keep doing it. Rennais is one of the best offensive teams in the league so far this season, and their defense isn’t bad, but their current form is.

PSG is playing against Real Madrid in the Champions League next week, and that is a tough matchup for them, but they certainly have the quality to come out on top. As far as Ligue 1 goes, PSG has demolished Lille last weekend as I mentioned. Messi has had a good game then, and that could have easily been his best yet in the PSG’s jersey. Mbappe is still PSG’s leading goalscorer with 12 goals, and he also added 10 assists. With a great performance last week, Messi has 6 assists to his name. There are still a lot of injuries in PSG, but luckily for them, they have enough depth to compete. I think PSG might rest some players here but winning is also important because they need to stay in good form ahead of the Champions League.

Rennais is not in good form, they have only 2 wins in their last 6 games. Those two wins were against some of the weakest teams in the league, Brest, and Bordeaux. Rennais is now in 5th place with 37 points, but they are still close to the top 3 teams in the league. I did mention Rennais’ offense, and it has been outstanding with 43 scored goals, but their defense is not playing well right now. Rennais also has a lot of injuries, and when your team doesn’t have a lot of depth as is, all the injuries certainly don’t help. Martin Terrier has been the best player for Rennais so far this season with 11 scored goals, while Majer and Laborde added 5 assists each. This Rennais team has a lot of talent, a lot of quality, but their form is a bit wonky right now, and they need to face the best team in the league in this game. I think Rennais might end up in the top 3 in the end, but it will be a battle for them.

Rennais did beat PSG in the reverse fixture earlier this season, but they are not good enough right now to do it again. Of course, every team always gives its best against the best, and I’m sure Rennais will do the same, but PSG is now in an excellent mood, and I think they will win.
