Roma vs. Empoli 10/3/21 Serie A Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Roma is welcoming Empoli to Stadio Olimpico in round 7 of the Italian Serie A. Roma has started this season really well, but they have been a bit shaky as of late, and that is something Mourinho has to fix. Empoli is now on a 2-game winning streak, and they will be a threat to Roma in this match.

Roma has been brilliant in the attacking end so far this season with 14 scored goals, but their defense does need a bit more work because they have conceded 8 goals. With 12 points, Roma is now in 4th place, and they are not far away from the top. In their last 4 games, Roma has 2 wins and 2 losses, but they were able to get a win in the Conference League earlier this week. In their last Serie A game in a derby against Lazio, Roma was solid with 51% of ball possession, 8 shots on goal, 9 corner kicks, 2 big chances created, and 85% of the correct passes. Boy, this was a fun game to watch, as expected, and we have seen 3 goals in the first half, and 2 more goals in the second half, but unfortunately for Roma, they ended up losing this game 3-2. There are no injuries or suspensions in Roma right now, which means they will be at full strength for this game, and that’s bad news for Empoli.

Empoli has really climbed the standings with those 2 wins, and they are now in 9th place with 9 points. Empoli has scored 9 goals, which isn’t bad, but their defense is bad with 10 conceded goals so far this season. Bajrami is the leading goalscorer for Empoli with 2 goals and 1 assist. Fiamozzi and Tonelli are both injured. Empoli was hosting Bologna in their last Serie A game, and they have had only 37% of ball possession, but 7 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and only 76% of the correct passes. Overall, it wasn’t a great game from Empoli, but they have used most of their chances, and they ended up winning this game 4-2. Despite Empoli being far from the bottom of the table now, they are still in big danger of being relegated because I don’t see them having many wins until the end of the season.

As I’ve mentioned, Roma is healthy and ready to pounce, and I think they will. Roma has won their last 10 home games in a row, and now they are facing a team that is not good defensively. Empoli hasn’t won any of their last 3 games. I’m taking Roma all the way in this game.
