Roma vs. Leicester City 5/5/22 UEFA Conference League Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Roma is welcoming Leicester City to Stadio Olimpico in the second leg of the UEFA Conference League semifinals. Roma has been outstanding at home this season, and if they want to qualify for the finals of this competition, they will need to show that here as well. Leicester has been struggling, they have been inconsistent, and they are not in good form right now.

Roma hasn’t won any of their last 4 games, but as I’ve mentioned, they have been fantastic at home this season, and that will play a huge role in this game. The good news for Roma is they have lost only 1 of their last 4 games, and they are playing this game at home. In Serie A, Roma is now in 5th place with 59 points, they have scored a solid 55 goals, while their defense is decent with 40 conceded goals. Roma will not be able to reach the Champions League spot through Serie A this season, and even if they win the Conference League they won’t get there, but they will get to the Europa League. Roma is a good team with a lot of talent, their defense is doing a solid job right now, but I think they will need to score at least 2 goals here to get through.

Leicester was hoping to have a better season, at least in the EPL where they are now in 11th place with 42 points. Defensively, Leicester has been terrible this season with 54 conceded goals, they are far away from any of the European spots in the EPL, but there is hope yet. Leicester is in decent shape in the Conference League, and if they can win it, they will qualify for the Europa League, which would save their season. Maddison is the leading goalscorer for Leicester with 3 goals in the Conference League, which tells us how bad they are in the attacking end this season. Once Leicester has gotten a bit better defensively, their offense stopped producing, but maybe now that Vardy is back that will change. There are still a few more injuries in Leicester, but they have enough quality and depth at their disposal to get a win here, or to at least get on the scoreboard.

The first leg was tough, and even though Leicester was better in every aspect of this game, they couldn’t score a goal. Roma scored first, but the final score was 1-1. I think these are two pretty even teams, and this game could go either way, which is why I will stick to goals.
