Sassuolo vs. Atalanta 4/10/22 Serie A Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Sassuolo is welcoming Atalanta to Mapei Stadium in round 32 of the Italian Serie A. Sassuolo is a brilliant team in the attacking end, but their defense is shaky at best. Atalanta has been hot and cold the whole season, and they have played in the Europa League earlier this week.

Sassuolo is among the best offensive teams in the league with 56 scored goals so far, but they have conceded 51 goals in 31 games, which is way too many if you want to qualify for the Europa League. Berardi is the best player in Sassuolo with 14 goals and 11 assists, while Scamacca has added 13 goals. There are a few injured players in Sassuolo right now, while Berardi is still questionable, but he should be playing. Until their last game, Sassuolo was without a loss in 6 games, but they couldn’t do much against Lazio last weekend. Sassuolo has scored once again in that game, but they ended up losing that match 2-1. Until the end of the season, Sassuolo has to play against Milan, Napoli, and Juventus, but those are the games where Sassuolo comes out to play.

As I’ve mentioned, Atalanta has been hot and cold the entire season, and they haven’t won any of their last 2 games. The good news for Atalanta is they have gotten a positive result in the Europa League game against Leipzig, and it was on the road. As far as Serie A goes, Atalanta is now in 7th place with 51 points, they have scored 52 goals while conceding 34 goals in 30 games. Defensively, Atlanta isn’t bad as we can see, and scoring 52 goals in 30 games isn’t bad either, but Atalanta has scored close to 100 goals in their last 2 seasons so this is a step-down. The Europa League game next week will show if this season has been a success or a failure for Atalanta, but with their inconsistencies this season, it’s hard to expect something good. Atalanta is a good team with a lot of talent, but something is just not working out for them this season.

This should be an exciting matchup between two strong offensive teams, and two teams whose defenses haven’t been good, especially Sassuolo’s. This one is simple, I’m taking goals here.
