Scotland vs. Ukraine 9/21/22 Nations League Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Scotland and Ukraine face off on Wednesday in League B G Group 1 showdown at the Nations League at Hampden Park. When these two teams faced off on June 1st it was Ukraine that secured the 3-1 victory.

Ukraine currently sits in 1st place in the group having picked up seven points in three matches. Ukraine’s last game came against Ireland on June 14th, and they played to a 1-1 draw. Ukraine fell behind in the 31st minute, but Artem Dovbyk scored in the 47th minute, and that was enough to pick up a point. Ukraine had 62 percent of the possession, but they only managed three shots on goal. Oleksandr Zinchenko is dealing with a calf injury, and he won’t be playing in this game. Mykhaylo Mudryk and Andriy Yarmolenko will move into the starting lineup, and they are both going to key in this game.

On the other side of this matchup is Scotland who sits in second place in the group having picked up six points. Scotland’s last game was on June 14th against Armenia, and the offense again had a strong game scoring four goals. They did give up a goal, but it was still a dominant win. Stuart Armstrong had a strong game scoring in the 17th minute and 45th minute. They had 70 percent of the possession and seven shots on goal. In this game, it’s going to be important again that they take care of the ball, and are the team with the possession. Scotland is a bit banged up in this game, and they will be without captain Andy Robertson. Kieran Tierney has been called up though, and he is expected to get the start in this game.

Scotland hasn’t been as strong the last year, and I don’t think they are magically going to get better in this game. Ukraine looks to be more healthy heading into this game, and they are going to have more offensive success in this game. Ukraine will score at least two goals here, and Scotland is going to have issues getting even on the board. Even on the road, Ukraine is going to get the job done. Back Ukraine on the money line.
