Sevilla and Barcelona are clashing at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in a postponed game of round 4 of the Spanish LaLiga. Sevilla is still playing well in LaLiga, and after beating Atletico, their morale is high right now. Barcelona has finally gotten a win, but their defense has once again looked ridiculously bad.
Sevilla is now on a 3-game winning streak, and after that loss in the Champions League, they bounced back nicely. With 37 points, Sevilla is now in 2nd place, and they are the closest team to Real Madrid so far. Offensively, Sevilla is doing better than they did in the previous season, and they have scored 28 goals so far, but more importantly, their defense has remained good. Sevilla has conceded only 12 goals so far. Mir is the leading goalscorer for Sevilla with 5 goals, and he is the only striker available for this team, while Lamela and Ocampos added 4 goals each. Navas, En-Neyri, Lamela, and Suso are all injured, while Fernando is suspended because of the yellow cards. I think Sevilla has the team to compete for the title, and I think they are good enough to stay focused for most of the season, but I guess we will see if that will happen.
After 4 games without a win, Barcelona has finally snagged a win against Elche this past week, but barely. Barcelona has had a 2-0 lead at halftime, but they conceded 2 stupid goals within minutes in the second half, and they had to attack once again. Luckily for Barcelona, they scored in the 85th minute, and they ended up winning this game 3-2. Barcelona’s defense is crap, their midfield is average, while their offense isn’t scoring enough, but what is impressive is Barcelona’s variety of young and talented players. Gavi, Nico, and Jutgla were the goalscorers in this game, and one is 17, one is 19, while the third one is only 22 years old. If we add Fati and Pedri into that mix once they are healthy, Barcelona will be a force to be reckoned with. The only goal for Barcelona is to secure the Champions League spot because that will open the door for them to sign Haaland, and by next season these young players will be more experienced and mature, and that is when Barcelona can expect trophies. Depay is still the leading goalscorer for Barcelona with 8 goals. This is the last game for Barcelona before the winter break, and I know they can score, but I’m not sure they can win.
Sevilla is still undefeated at home this season, and it’s understandable why they are favorites here, but Barcelona can score. This should be a fun game, but I will stick to goals instead of the winner.
