Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. When these two teams faced off on May 1st it was Tottenham that secured the 3-1 victory.
Leicester City has really struggled this season, and they currently sit in 20th place having picked up one point. This is a team that just won the Premier League a few years ago, but they are going to need to fight to even stay in the top flight. In the last game against Brighton, the offense was fine scoring two goals, but the defense was awful giving up five goals and that led to the defeat. The offense has been fine for the team, but the defense has struggled and will need to be better here. Leicester City is pretty healthy coming into this game and only Ricardo Pereira and Ryan Bertrand are expected to miss this game. Jamie Vardy is also expected to come off the bench.
On the other side of this matchup is Tottenham Hotspur, who sit in 3rd place having picked up 14 points. Tottenham has had a nice season, but they are coming off a disappointing loss in their last game. Against Sporting in the Champions League, the offense couldn’t get anything going, and they were defeated 2-0. The last Premier League game came against Fulham, and they won that game 2-1. Tottenham in this game is going to need to push numbers forward and really put pressure on the Leicester City defense. Lucas Moura is still dealing with a tendon issue and is expected to miss this game. Outside of him, though, they are really healthy and should have a full crew.
Leicester City’s defense has been awful, and Tottenham should have no issue running up the score here. I also expect Leicester City will find a way to score a goal or two. This is a game that could have seven or eight goals scored, but we will play it a little more conservatively. Back the over 3.5 to cash.
