Villarreal vs. Real Madrid 2/12/22 LaLiga Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Villarreal is welcoming Real Madrid to Estadio de la Ceramica in round 24 of the Spanish LaLiga. Villarreal is on a nice run, they are playing well, but they might be without Moreno in this game. Real Madrid will be without Benzema, and they might even rest some players because of their Champions League game next week.

Villarreal has won their last 2 LaLiga games in a row, and they have kept two clean sheets in those 2 games, but I’m not sure they can do it twice in a row. With 35 points, Villarreal is now in 6th place in the LaLiga standings, they have scored 38 goals, while their defense has been solid with 23 conceded goals. In their last game against Betis, Villarreal was solid defensively, they were confident, they were calm, and they absolutely deserved that win. Moreno has done well this season, he has 8 goals, and if he wasn’t injured, he would have had more. Danjuma and Trigueros have added 5 goals each. Coquelin and Pena are injured. Villarreal is not playing in the Champions League next week, and that will give them some more time to get ready and arrive at this game healthy.

Real Madrid is missing their best player, Karim Benzema, but he might be ready for their Champions League clash against PSG next week. Last week, Real was playing against Granada at home, and even though their win was expected, goals were not, and that is exactly what happened. With 53 points, which is only 3 points more than Sevilla, Real Madrid is leading LaLiga, and they are also the best offensive team in the league. Defensively, only Sevilla is better, and I think this battle will last until the very end. Benzema is Real’s best player with 17 goals and 7 assists, and Real will surely miss him in this game. Mendy is also injured. Even without Benzema, Real has a ton of offensive quality, starting with Vinicius, but there is Hazard as well. Real will most likely rest some players in this game, but probably in the second half because this is a fairly big game, and a lot is at stake.

When playing at home, Villarreal has not lost to Real Madrid in their last 4 games, and they also haven’t lost any of their last 5 home games overall. I think this will be an interesting game, and I think we will see some goals here, on both sides.
