Thomaz Bellucci and Rafael Nadal meet Monday in the first round of the 2015 Wimbledon.
Thomaz Bellucci would love nothing more to ride his hot streak, as he’s won six of his last eight matches. Although he did lose to Alexander Zverev in Nottingham, Bellucci is coming off a Geneva Open title, his first singles crown since 2012. The 27-year-old Brazilian is playing some of his hottest tennis right now and even competed with Kei Nishikori in the second round of the French Open a few weeks ago. However, we know that Bellucci will have to play the game of his life if he stands any chance of pulling off this monster upset. Bellucci has improved in majors lately, making it out of the first round in four of his last five appearances. This will be Bellucci’s first Wimbledon appearance since 2012.

Rafael Nadal has stayed busy after losing in the French Open quarterfinals, as he picked up a Stuttgart Open crown and played singles and doubles in Queen's. Nadal’s last match was a shocking three-set loss to Alexandr Dolgopolov. Nadal clearly isn’t in the terrific form he usually is this time of year, which is why he’s playing in a lot of matches in hopes he can turn things around. Still, Nadal is never the guy to write off, as there aren’t many who can beat him once he cleans his game up. Nadal’s last exit in the first round of a major came in the 2013 Wimbledon. Nadal has been bounced in the fourth round or earlier in his last three Wimbledon appearances.
This will be the fifth time these two have played, and Nadal has won all four of the previous meetings. The last meeting was in Rio De Janeiro this year, and this will be the fourth time they’ve faced in a major. These two met in the 2012 Wimbledon, and Bellucci has yet to take a single set from Nadal.
This is an interesting match, as I think Bellucci could steal a set if he gets off to a fast start and remains confident. However, Nadal will be too much for him in the end and will win. However, take Bellucci to win a set if the option is available.
