USA TODAY Sports
Vasek Pospisil is coming off a five set match against Viktor Troicki, which lasted two and a half hours. Pospisil has played 19 aces and four tiebreaks this tournament. Pospisil is winning at least 83 percent of his first serve points and 48 percent of his second serve points. Pospisil has combined for 31 aces and 109 winners in his last two matches. Pospisil is playing some of his best tennis of his career, dominating his service game and hitting winners. However, Pospisil has 30-plus unforced errors in three of his four matches. This will be Pospisil’s first quarterfinal appearance of a grand slam. Pospisil previously never made it out of the second round of the Wimbledon.
These two have played three times in the past, and Murray has won all three meetings in straight sets. The most recent meeting was in this year’s Indian Wells Masters. This will be the first time these two meet on grass.
Pospisil has had no success against Murray, which includes two matches this season. Hard to expect anything different. Give me Murray in a straight sets victory.
