Chardy: 1.11 Pavlasek: 6.50 See the Latest Odds
Jeremy Chardy was tested in his first round game but after a 4 set win in front of his home crown, the charismatic Frenchman will now look forward to his second game where he will face the 21-year-old Czech player, Adam Pavlásek. Both players will feel like this is a great opportunity for them to make a deep run in a major tournament so I am expecting a good, hard fought match.
Chardy is one of the more inconsistent players on the circuit but he has traditionally done well in the French Open. This will give him a lot of satisfaction and with the home crowd behind him, it is hard to see him lose. In addition to this, his opponent Adam Pavlásek had a hard fought match in the first round so he will not be nearly as fresh as Chardy.

The bookmakers agree and we are getting a very short price on Jeremy Chardy so I don’t think there is any value in betting on him to win the match. That being said there is still a lot of value in this tennis match. Chardy is a very aggressive player and when he plays in that style he tends to make a lot of unforced errors which lead too his opponents getting chance. The set line is set at 3.5 which is fair but I think the over is very likely. A 3-1 win for Chardy is what I am expecting and that allows us to get home at a great price so I think this is a great bet. Betting on Chardy to win 3-1 is also paying quite well and I think that has value to but it is a much riskier bet for sure.
