the Line: -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Jeremy Chardy and Adam Pavlasek meet in the second round of the 2016 French Open.
Jeremy Chardy is coming off a four set victory over Leonardo Mayer that took 37 games to decide. In the victory, Chardy won 86 percent of his first serve points and 44 percent of his second serve points. Chardy lost just six games in his last two sets and managed to win a quick match despite getting just 57 percent of his first serves in play. Chardy is certainly capable of playing better tennis than what he showed in his first match, and he’ll need to do that here in order to advance. Chardy has now split his last 10 singles matches and could use another win to help crack the top-30. Chardy has reached the third round of a grand slam four times since 2014.

Adam Pavlasek is coming off a five set win over Roberto Carballes Baena that took 41 games to decide. In the victory, Pavlasek won 65 percent of his first serve points and 49 percent of his second serve points. Pavlasek won a bizarre match where the final two sets took a combined 14 games to finish. Neither player could maintain any consistency and Pavlasek did have 58 unforced errors. In order to advance in this match, Pavlasek has to clean his game up and can’t have mental lapses that take him out of certain sets. Pavlasek would get closer to cracking the top-100 for the first time ever with a victory here. This will be Pavlasek’s first second round appearance of a grand slam.
This will be the first time these two meet on the tennis court.
Neither of these guys played impressively well in their first round match, but a win's a win, right? When it comes down to it, Chardy is the better player between these two, has more experience and won’t beat himself as much as Pavlasek has the tendency to do.
This may go four sets or so, but Chardy should be on the winning end when it’s said and done.
