Raonic vs. Kyrgios
The Line -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Nick Kyrgios and Milos Raonic meet in the round of 32 at the 2016 Queen's Club Championships.
Nick Kyrgios is coming off a third round exit in the French Open and looks to build some confidence heading into the Wimbledon. Kyrgios has won 10 of his last 15 matches and seems more focused than he has in the past, which includes five victories this season over top-10 players. Kyrgios is no longer giving away games and is able to find a second gear this season when normally he would unravel after getting down in a set and pretty much give away points. Kyrgios is very dangerous when he’s playing the way he has recently, and he’s gearing up just in time for what has been his most successful grand slam. Kyrgios has won seven of his last 10 matches on grass.
USA TODAY Sports
Milos Raonic is coming off a fourth round French Open appearance and will be double dipping in this tournament with his partner Vasek Pospisil. Raonic has been really sharp lately, as he’s won seven of his last 10 matches and finds himself back in the top-10 rankings. Raonic is serving extremely well and really hasn’t had a poor showing at a tournament in quite some time. As long as Raonic is winning a high percentage of his first serve points, he’s going to be very tough to beat in this tournament and heading into the Wimbledon. Raonic has won nine of his last 12 matches on grass.
Kyrgios leads the all time series, 3-2, with the most recent match coming in this year's Rome Masters. Kyrgios has beaten Raonic in each of the last three meetings. Raonic’s only victories over Kyrgios came in the 2014 Wimbledon and French Open.
This is going to be a fun matchup between two of the dark horses for the Wimbledon. And while Raonic is playing well, Kyrgios has beaten him three straight times and has the shotmaking to counter.
I’m siding with Kyrgios to win this match.
