The Line Young +275 / Bautista -335 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Roberto Bautista Agut and Donald Young meet in the round of 16 in the 2016 Aegon Championships.
Roberto Bautista Agut is coming off a three set victory over Sam Querrey that took 39 games to decide. Bautista Agut played three tiebreaks in the victory and was able to make just enough shots to escape with the win. Bautista Agut is hoping to build some momentum before the Wimbledon as he’s won just seven of his last 12 matches and has had a few subpar performances over the last couple of months. The good news is that Bautista Agut seems to have his service game back on track and that may be enough to help him make a run in this tournament. Bautista Agut needs to do a better job of dominating the matches he should win. Bautista Agut has split his last eight matches on grass.
USA TODAY Sports
Donald Young is coming off a straight sets win over Vasek Pospisil that took 19 games to decide. Young has really had a poor 2016 despite winning 10 of his last 14 matches when you include qualifying. Just a few years ago Young was a top-40 player in the world and considered the next great American. Now, Young is trying to remain in the top-80 and is having far more success on the challenger level than anything. Young is making a ton of unforced errors, struggling with his service game and doesn’t look confident on the court. However, a convincing win over a top-50 player could change things a bit. Young has lost six of his last nine matches on grass.
These two have played once in the past, which was in this year's Auckland Open, a match Bautista Agut won in straight sets. The match took 23 games to decide.
We all know what Young is capable of when in good form, but that hasn’t been the case in a while. Young has also proven to be horrible on grass. You have to side with Bautista Agut in a victory even if he has his fair share of struggles as well.
Give me Bautista Agut in straight sets.
