the Line -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Novak Djokovic and Sam Querrey square off early in the third round of the 2016 Wimbledon.
Novak Djokovic is coming off a straight sets win over Adrian Mannarino that took two hours to finish. In the victory, Djokovic won 56 of 67 first serve points and racked up 23 winners and 21 unforced errors. Djokovic continues to win a high percentage of his service points, limit his errors and finish his matches quickly. As long as Djokovic continues to play at this level and make all of his shots, it’s going to be very tough for anybody to beat him. Djokovic has played just four hours of tennis in two matches. Djokovic hasn’t been bounced in the third round of a grand slam since the 2009 French Open. Djokovic has won 16 straight matches on grass.

Sam Querrey is coming off a straight sets win over Thomaz Bellucci that took an hour and a half to finish. In the victory, Querrey won 39 of 47 first serve points and racked up 25 winners to 16 unforced errors. Querrey had a much easier time in the second round than he did the first, and he’ll always have a shot to win if his service game is strong. Querrey has produced 43 aces and 107 winners in two matches, something that gives him hope in this match. Querrey hopes to make it to the fourth round of a grand slam for the first time since the 2010 US Open. Querrey has won six of his last nine matches on grass.
These two have played nine times in the past and Djokovic has won eight of those meetings. The most recent match was in the 2014 US Open, a match Djokovic won in straight sets. Querrey’s only win over Djokovic came in the 2012 Paris Masters.
Querrey could possibly steal a set if he’s dropping aces down the hatch, but he’s not winning this match. Djokovic is too damn good and continues to flex his muscle.
Give me Djokovic in straight sets.
