The Line: -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Andy Murray and Lukas Rosol meet in the first round of the 2016 US Open.
Andy Murray enters the US Open as the hottest player in the world and has lost just one match in his last 21 tries. Murray continues to play some ofthe best tennis of his career and is considered by some to be the favorite to win this title as well. As long as Murray isn’t fatigued from such a heavy workload and can remain in this form for a couple more weeks, he’ll have a great shot to in his fourth career grand slam title. Murray hasn’t lost in the first round of a grand slam since the 2008 Australian Open. Murray has won 10 of his last 11 matches on hard court.

Lukas Rosol is just trying to find his form after losing nine of his last 12 singles matches. Rosol has dropped out of the top 80 and now enters a tournament where he is 1-5 throughout his career. Rosol is no pushover when he’s playing well and has beaten some good competition throughout his spotty career, but his current stretch of tennis doesn’t have Murray worried much heading into this match. Rosol has lost in the first round in his last two grand slam appearances. Rosol has four career wins over top-10 players, including one this season against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Rosol has lost six of his last nine matches on hard court.
These two have met twice and Murray has won both matches in three sets. The most recent match was in the 2015 BMW Open, a match that took 27 games to decide.
I’ve been riding the Murray bandwagon all season long and that’s not changing against a guy who has lost nine of his last 12 matches.
Give me Murray in straight easy sets.
