Agnieszka Radwanska and Karolina Pliskova meet Friday in the third match of the tennis 2016 WTA Championships.

Agnieszka Radwanska is coming off a straight sets win over Garbine Muguruza that took 22 games to decide. In the victory, Radwanska won 72 percent of her first serve points and 50 percent of her second serve points. Radwanska was much sharper with her serve in her second match and was able to win 53 percent of her return points as well. Radwanska is always going to give herself break opportunities due to her defense and athleticism, but her serve is what determines how close her matches will be, as serving a high percentage on her first attempt makes her one of the tougher players to beat. Radwanska hopes to make it out of the round robin stages of the WTA Finals for the third straight try. Radwanska has won 11 of her last 14 matches on hard court.

Agnieszka Radwanska vs. Karolina Pliskova 2016 WTA Championships Pick, Odds, Prediction

Karolina Pliskova is coming off a three set loss to Svetlana Kuznetsova that took 30 games to decide. In the losing effort, Pliskova won 52 percent of her first serve points and 55 percent of her second serve points. Pliskova wasn’t sharp at all with her service game, as she had just two aces and provided Kuznetsova with 15 break chances. Of course, the one thing that makes Pliskova a dangerous player is her serve and the fact she gets so many free points, as she had 15 aces in her opening match against Garbine Muguruza. Fatigue may be an issue for Pliskova at this point considering she’s played 15 sets in her last five matches. Pliskova would love to advance past the round robin stages in her first appearance in the WTA Finals. Pliskova has won 11 of her last 16 matches on hard court.

These two have played six times in the past and Radwanska has won all six matches. The most recent match was in this years Stuttgart Open, a match Radwanska won in 21 games. Pliskova has never won a set against Radwanska in six matches.

Pliskova and her power game could give Radwanska trouble, but that hasn’t been the case in the six matches between these two. While Pliskova is a better player than she was years ago, the fact she has yet to even win a set against Radwanska will play mental games if she gets down early. You have to give the heavy edge to Radwanska in this match given the current form and the history.

Look for Radwanska to advance.
