World number 1, Rafael Nadal is in action as he takes on Leonardo Mayer in the round of 32 of the US Open. The Spanish superstar has been in great form but he will need to be careful since a loss at this stage of the tournament will be detrimental for him.
Leonardo Mayer will enter this game with a lot of confidence and nothing to lose. The Argentine is a qualifier for this tournament and has already beaten world French superstar, Richard Gasquet two games ago. While Mayer is an unknown in this tournament, the player has won the Davis Cup with Argentina before so he is no stranger to the big stage.

Rafael Nadal, on the other hand, will be hoping that he can finish this game with a bit of ease. The Spaniard has not really been tested so far although he did drop a set in his previous game. Nadal will know that if he plays to the best of his ability, Mayer has no chance so I am expecting a very composed and professional performance from the best player in the world. This is perhaps one of the best opportunities that Nadal will have to win a grand slam with both Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray not playing in this edition of the US Open. Due to this I am expecting a determined and focussed Rafael Nadal.
We are not getting a great price on betting on Nadal to win so I think it is best if we avoid that bet. That being said, Nadal to win in straight sets is paying well enough. Nadal is a class above his opponent and will want a quick and easy game so I will be very surprised if this game goes to the fourth set.
