Garcia has won seven of her last 10 quarterfinal matches and hopes to reach her fifth semifinal of the season. Garcia has won seven of her last nine matches on hard court.
This will be the first time these two meet on the tennis court.
You can’t overlook the way Makarova has played this tournament and the competition she’s beaten to get to this point. However, Garcia is hitting the ball with great pace, making very few unforced errors and playing extremely clean tennis. She’s serving at a high percentage and has these viscous returns now and then that she just rips down the line. She’s playing really well at the moment.
I’m siding with Garcia to reach the semifinals.
