Alexandr Dolgopolov enters this tournament on a three match losing streak and is 5-5 on the season overall. Battling injury issues and concerns with his form, Dolgopolov has certainly seen better days and could use a pick me up victory to kind of regain some confidence. However, it doesn’t help that Dolgopolov’s last two matches have now come against Novak Djokovic and now Nadal. Dolgopolov needs to find a spark in his serve to have any chance in this match, as his percentages are way down, and he’s been broken a combined seven times in his last two matches. Dolgopolov has 10 career wins over top-10 players, but only one of them has come since 2017. Dolgopolov has lost each of his last five matches on clay court.
These two have played nine times and Nadal has won seven of those meetings. The most recent match was in the 2017 US Open, a match Nadal won in straight sets. last win over Nadal came in the 2015 Queen's Club Championships.
If you’ve been following along, you know betting against Nadal on this surface or in his current form isn’t an option. Don’t do it. Do not do it. I’m not sure how it make it any easier for you.
Nadal cruises in straight sets.
