Jelena Ostapenko vs. Agnieszka Radwanska
The Line: -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Agnieszka Radwanska and Jelena Ostapenko meet in the quarterfinals of the 2018 tennis Eastbourne International.
Agnieszka Radwanska is coming off a walkover due to Petra Kvitova pulling out of the tournament. Radwanska got some much needed rest after playing a three set match, but I’m sure she would have loved to play and improve her game given her struggles this season. Radwanska hasn’t been the Radwanska of old, as she’s had issues with her serve and has piled up the unforced errors in her losses. Either way, Radwanska is in her third quarterfinal of the season, and making it this far could be the confidence boost she needed. Radwanska is playing some of her best tennis heading into a grand slam where she’s won 78 percent of her matches, the highest percentage of her career. Radwanska has won six of her last seven matches on grass court.

Jelena Ostapenko is coming off a straight sets win over Mihaela Buzarnescu that took 15 games to decide. In the victory, Ostapenko won 85 percent of her first serve points and 32 percent of her second serve points. Ostapenko is coming off a match in which she lost just four first serve points and hit four aces. Ostapenko needs to improve her second serve, but her return and every other part of her game has been sharp this tournament. With four straight sets won, Ostapenko has to be more confident heading into the Wimbledon than she was on clay. In this form, Ostapenko is going to be tough to deal with for anybody. Ostapenko has won six of her last seven matches on grass court.
These two have played once, which was in New Heaven of 2016, a match Radwanska won in straight sets. The match took 19 games to be decided.
Radwanska has the rest advantage, but she hasn’t played well enough this season to pick her to beat Ostapenko in her current form. When Ostapenko is playing with that pep in her step and has that fiery return working, she’s tough to bet against and capable of beating anybody.
Ostapenko reaches the semifinals.
