Caroline Wozniacki is coming off a three sets win over Angelique Kerber that took 31 games to decide. In the victory, Wozniacki won 71 percent of her first serve points and 30 percent of her second serve points. Wozniacki really found another gear to win her semifinal match after being dominated in the first set. In the victory, Wozniacki won 71 percent of her total service points and came away with five huge aces. Wozniacki is easily playing her best tennis since winning her first grand slam and is building quite the momentum heading into the Wimbledon. Wozniacki hopes to win her second final of the year and her 29th of her career. Wozniacki has lost seven of her last 10 final appearances overall and is 1-1 in career final appearances on grass. Wozniacki has won 11 of her last 13 matches on grass court.
This will be the first meeting between these two players.
Sabalenka has beaten some pretty big names to get to this point, but she’s also played subpar tennis, particularly when you talk about the serve. There’s only so many matches you’re going to win when barely winning 50 percent of your total serves. Not to mention Wozniacki is a defensive master who eats weak serves in her sleep.
This should be a rather routine final for Wozniacki.
