Latvian superstar Jeļena Ostapenko is one of the most promising and talented players in the world at the moment. At the age of only 21, she has already won a grand slam winning the French Open in 2017. She will begin her Wimbledon campaign on Tuesday as she takes on a local player, Katy Dunne.
Katy Dunne is only 23 years old and although she has had some strong performances at ITF level, she is yet to establish herself as a WTA player. The UK based player has not been in incredible form having failed to qualify for the last two WTA tournament she attempted. This is not a great sign heading into a massive tournament like Wimbledon. It is expected that the crown will be behind Katy Dunne since she is the local player it will be interesting to see if that gives her an added boost.

On the other side of the coin, Jeļena Ostapenko will look to get an early win. The Latvian has not been at the level she once was and will be desperate to improve her tennis. Jeļena Ostapenko managed to get eliminated in the opening round of the French Open and that would have been a huge shock considering that she won at Roland Garros 12 months before. Jeļena Ostapenko has made the quarterfinals of Wimbledon before and has also won the junior title. This shows that she should be comfortable playing on grass courts. There is no questioning the talent of Jeļena Ostapenko but it will be interesting to see how she handles to pressure.
Looking at this match, I see Jeļena Ostapenko winning comfortably. Neither player is in good form but it is safe to say that Jeļena Ostapenko is a much more accomplished tennis player. As far as betting is concerned, we are not getting a great price to wager on Jeļena Ostapenko winning this game so there is no point in doing so. The best wager is the under 2.5 sets. Jeļena Ostapenko is way too strong to allow Katy Dunne to win a set so I see this game ending after the second set.
