Dominic Thiem has established himself as one of the top players in the world. He will begin his Wimbledon campaign against Cypriot superstar, Marcos Baghdatis. Both these players have tons of experience and this is set to be a great opening round match.
Marcos Baghdatis is a fan favorite everywhere. The player from Cyprus is known for this dynamism which has entertained fans all over the world. At the age of 33, Marcos Baghdatis is close to the end of his career and will look to have a few more deep runs in tournaments before it is all over. It has now been over a decade since Marcos Baghdatis made the semifinals at Wimbledon and that shows the talent that the Cypriot player once had. This will not be an easy game for Marcos Baghdatis since he is up against one of the top players of 2018.

Dominic Thiem will look to follow up his French Open 2nd place with another deep run at Wimbledon. The Austrian is a very complete player and at the age of only 24, he has most of his career ahead of him. Thiem has not had any impressive results since the French Open but his confidence should still be high as he heads into this match. Dominic Thiem made the fourth round last Wimbledon and he will know that he can do much better this year.
Looking at this match from a distance, it will be very hard for Marcos Baghdatis to compete with Dominic Thiem. The Austrian is looking very strong and Marcos Baghdatis is looking like a player that has lost his legs. While a prediction is never certain, it is pretty close in this case since I don’t see Dominic Thiem losing this match.
As far as betting is concerned, we are not getting a good price on Dominic Thiem winning this game. While this bet should always win, there is no point in wagering at the odds which we are getting. The best bet is the under 3.5 sets. I don’t see Marcos Baghdatis winning a set so this should be a safe wager.
