Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

Kevin Anderson is coming off a straight sets win over Philipp Kohlschreiber that took 33 games to decide. In the victory, Anderson won 87 percent of his first serve points and 56 percent of his second serve points. Anderson won 77 percent of his total service points and sprayed 42 winners in his third round victory. Anderson is most known for his service game, and when he’s hitting his spots and getting so many free points, it makes him a confident player who can use experience to finish the match. Anderson doesn’t look like the struggling player he was entering this tournament. Anderson has a shot to make his third career grand slam quarterfinal appearance. Anderson has never made the quarterfinal in the Wimbledon. Anderson has won three straight matches on grass court.

These two have played five times and Monfils has won every match. The most recent meeting was in the 2016 Shanghai Masters, a match Monfils won in straight sets. This will be their first ever meeting on grass.

Both players are similar in that they rely heavily on shotmaking and power serving. Crazy enough, Monfils has won all five of the previous meetings against Anderson, which has to count for something. Also, Monfils has a much more proven track record in grand slam play than Anderson, who has just two grand slam quarterfinal trips.

Give me Monfils to win this match.
