Jelena Ostapenko and Aliaksandra Sasnovich meet in the fourth round of the 2018 tennis Wimbledon.

Jelena Ostapenko is coming off a straight sets win over Vitalia Diatchenko that took 16 games to decide. In the victory, Ostapenko won 65 percent of her first serve points and 67 percent of her second serve points. Ostapenko won 66 percent of her total service points, broke fvie times and had just seven unforced errors. It was as complete of a performance you’re going to see from Ostapenko, and she’s now won 10 of her last 12 sets played since being upset in the first round of the French Open. When Ostapenko is playing at this level at both ends of the court, she proven just how dangerous she can be in grand slam play. Ostapenko looks for back-to-back Wimbledon quarterfinal trips and her third grand slam quarterfinal overall. Ostapenko has won five of her last six matches on grass court.

Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

Aliaksandra Sasnovich is coming off a straight sets win over Daria Gavrilova that took 16 games to decide. In the victory, Sasnovich won 62 percent of her first serve points and 62 percent of her second serve points. Sasnovich won 62 percent of her total service points and won a match in straight sets despite having 13 more unforced errors than winners. Sasnovich has now won six of her seven sets this tournament and doesn’t look like the same player who entered this draw on a long losing streak. The one concern for Sasnovich are the forced errors, as its a number that must be trimmed if this match is going to be successful. Sasnovich looks to reach her first career grand slam quarterfinal. Sasnovich has won three of her last five matches on grass court.

These two have played twice and Ostapenko has won both meetings in three sets. The last meeting was in the 2017 Wimbledon, a match that took 22 games to be decided.

Ostapenko is in great form right now and seems hungry to right a wrong after being sent home in the first round of the French Open. She’s playing with that usual aggressiveness and isn’t letting her passion lead to a high number of unforced errors. An aggressively controlled Ostapenko is when she’s at her best.

Ostapenko makes it back-to-back years of Wimbledon quarterfinals.
