Nick Kyrgios vs. Cameron Norrie
The Line: -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Cameron Norrie and Nick Kyrgios meet in the quarterfinals of the 2018 tennis Atlanta Open.
Cameron Norrie is coming off a three sets win over Jeremy Chardy that took 32 games to decide. In the victory, Norrie won 89 percent of his first serve points and 71 percent of his second serve points. Norrie won 85 percent of his total service points and was broken just once in the victory. It was one of the bigger victories for the young Norrie, and he has a chance to really make this a signature moment given his lack of ATP main tour success. Norrie has had his struggles at times this season, but he’s coming off one of the best serving performances I can remember, and if he can repeat that effort, he’s going to be a tough out. Norrie has won six of his last eight matches on hard court.

Nick Kyrgios is coming off a straight sets win over Noah Rubin that took 20 games to decide. In the victory, Kyrgios won 86 percent of his first serve points and 78 percent of his second serve points. Kyrgios won 83 percent of his total service points and faced just two break points. Kyrgios hit 15 aces in the straight sets victory and looked to be his shotmaking self who was engaged and bringing that swagger to the court. As long as Kyrgios is motivated and hitting his spots, he’s a strong candidate to win this tournament. The first serve percentage allows Kyrgios the freedom to take chances elsewhere and really takeover a match. Kyrgios has won three of his last four matches on hard court.
There’s no previous matches between these two players.
Norris played well in his last match, but he’s no match for a Kyrgios in good form. The Australian is one of the more talented players in the world and is one of the tougher players to beat when he’s serving well. Norrie doesn’t have the track record or the experience that suggests he can match Kyrgios shot for shot.
Kyrgios reaches the semifinals in Atlanta.
