James Duckworth vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas
The Line: -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Stefanos Tsitsipas and James Duckworth meet in the third round of the 2018 tennis Citi Open.
Stefanos Tsitsipas is coming off a three sets win over Jared Donaldson that took 30 games to decide. In the victory, Tsitsipas won 73 percent of his first serve points and 46 percent of his second serve points. Tsitsipas won 59 percent of his total service points and produced six breaks on 10 chances. Tsitsipas is going to have plenty of chances to advance even further in this tournament, but he must drastically improve his serve. It won’t be easy for Tsitsipas to advance much longer if he’s struggling to get 50 percent of his first serves in play. Either way, with wins in five of his last six matches, Tsitsipas is playing some of his most successful tennis of the year currently. Tsitsipas has lost three of his last five matches on hard court.

James Duckworth is coming off a three sets win over Jason Kubler that took 28 games to decide. In the victory, Duckworth won 73 percent of his first serve points and 38 percent of his second serve points. Duckworth won 55 percent of his total service points and produced five breaks on six chances. Duckworth also has to improve his serve if he hopes for a deeper tournament run, as he had six double faults despite his recent victory. The good news is Duckworth has produced seven breaks in his last five sets and seems to be a more confident player with these winning results. At this point, Duckworth is playing with house money given how this season has played out overall. Duckworth has split his last six matches on hard court.
This will be the first ever match between these two players.
This could look like a WTA match given the way both players are serving. Tons of sloppy serves and little momentum. If forced to pick, however, I have to side with Tsitsipas. He’s been the more consistent player this season, has had more success on the big stage and has been deadly with his return.
Tsitsipas wins probably in three sets.
