Juan Martín del Potro will be playing at the Cincinnati Open. The Argentine pulled out of the Rogers Cup due to a wrist injury but is set to make a return in this event as he gets ready for the US Open which starts very soon. Due to his seeding, he has received a bye in the first round and will begin his campaign in the second rounding. He will be taking on Chung Hyeon from South Korea. Both players are very experienced and will be hoping that they can win this match and make a deep run in this tournament.
Juan Martín del Potro has had an amazing few months as he made the semifinals of the French Open, the quarterfinals of Wimbledon and the final of the Los Cabos Open. The Argentine played incredible tennis at all these events and it showed his incredible skill. The frustrating point is that Juan Martín del Potro didn’t win any titles and this is something that the Argentine will hope to change. Winning the Cincinnati Open will be a perfect way to gain momentum and form for the US Open and I am sure that will be the goal for Juan Martín del Potro. That being said, this is not an easy second round match for Juan Martín del Potro but he will feel confident in his ability to win.

His opponent, Chung Hyeon, is also a top player. The South Korean won his opening round match in style and is hitting the ball extremely well. The opening round win was commendable because Chung Hyeon managed to beat a top player. This will be a much bigger test since Chung Hyeon will be facing one of the elite players in the world and he will need to improve his game if he wants to be competing for a spot in the next round.
All in all, I am going to predict that Juan Martín del Potro will win this match. The Argentine is the better player and I don’t think he will be greatly troubled by his opponent. I am expecting Juan Martín del Potro to win with ease in straight sets.
