Ekaterina Makarova vs Julia Görges
The Line: -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
World number 9, Julia Görges is the 5th seed at the WTA Connecticut Open. The German superstar has lived up to her rankings as she has made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament. At this stage of the tournament, she will face Ekaterina Makarova from Russia. Both of these players are very talented and will know that they are 3 wins away from a WTA title. This should ensure that motivation is high. We should be treated to a very exciting tennis match.
Julia Görges has cruised in this last 8 having beaten her opponents with ease. The German superstar has been playing good tennis for the past few months. She made a deep run at Wimbledon and followed that by playing well at WTA Montreal and the Moscow Open. With the US Open starting next week, Julia Görges will be desperate to continue her good form and win this tournament. The US Open is a tournament where Julia Görges has not done well in the past so remaining in good form for that event will be a top priority for the world number 9.

On the other side of the coin, Ekaterina Makarova has also been playing well. The Russian has been making some good runs over the past few months and will look to continue that. That will be a very hard match for Ekaterina Makarova as she will be outclassed and it will take a big effort from the Russian to keep this contest competitive.
All in all, I am picking Julia Görges to win this match. The German is much better than her opponent and I think the skill difference will be too much for any other result but a win for Julia Görges. I am expecting this match to end in 2 sets since Makarova is not good enough to win a set from Julia Görges
While I think Gorges is the better player she most certainly did not win her last match against and 18 year old with ease. it was a nail biter and i was very much worried for most of the match. i respect your analysis a lot but how can you say she won every match easily without mentioning her last match.
