Aleksandra Krunic vs. Madison Keys
The Line: -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Madison Keys and Aleksandra Krunic meet in the third round of the 2018 tennis US Open.
Madison Keys is coming off a straight sets win over Bernarda Pera that took 17 games to decide. In the victory, Keys won 90 percent of her first serve points and 55 percent of her second serve points. Keys won 76 percent of her total service points and managed to save both of her break points. The one thing I always look for with Keys are the unforced errors, and she’s coming off a match in which she had just 16. As long as Keys manages her power and doesn’t overhit balls, she has a great chance to make the final of the US Open back-to-back years. Keys hopes to make the fourth round of a grand slam for the 10th time in her last 13 tries. Keys also hopes to make the fourth round of the US Open for her fourth straight appearance. Keys has won five of her last seven matches on hard court.

Aleksandra Krunic is coming off a straight sets win over Kirsten Flipkens that took 16 games to decide. In the victory, Krunic won 82 percent of her first serve points and 90 percent of her second serve points. Krunic dropped just six of 38 total service points and converted on four of her seven break points. It was an overall nearly flawless performance from Krunic and has her in the third round of a grand slam for the fourth time. If Krunic can continue to hit her spots and dominate her first serve, she gives herself a punchers chance to keep marching on. Krunic has a chance to make the fourth round of a grand slam for the second time in her career, and the first one since the 2014 US Open. Krunic has lost three of her last five matches on hard court.
These two have split the previous two matches, as Krunic won the 2014 US Open and Keys won the 2015 Stanford Classic.
Krunic is coming off a serving performance that will give her a fighting chance if she can repeat it. The problem is Krunic has shown little consistency this year that suggest she’s capable of playing at a high level back-to-back matches. Keys has a track record at the US Open and for the most part has done a fine job of controlling her unforced errors. Few can hang with Keys on hard court when she’s not beating herself.
Keys makes the fourth round of the US Open yet again.
