If del Potro can stay in this form and hit with such power consistently, he’ll have something to say about who wins this title. del Potro has a chance to make a grand slam quarterfinal for the fifth time in his last eight tries. del Potro can make a US Open quarterfinal for the sixth time in his last eight appearances. del Potro has matches on hard court.
This will be the first ever match between these two players.
Coric is a strong competitor who has grown up quickly over the years and certainly a worthy opponent. However, you can count on one hand how many guys are capable of beating del Potor when he’s spraying winners with such power and pushing his opponent off the court. Coric hasn’t put himself in that conversation yet and doesn’t have the experience to handle that on the big stage. del Potro is hitting his spots with such accuracy and strength, and the only thing slowing him down is fatigue or his wrist flaring up.
del Potro makes the US Open quarterfinals for the sixth time in his last eight appearances.
