The Line: -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Pauline Parmentier and Jessica Pegula meet in the final of the 2018 tennis Coupe Banque Nationale.
Pauline Parmentier is coming off a three sets win over Heather Watson that took 34 games to decide. In the victory, Parmentier won 74 percent of her first serve points and 48 percent of her second serve points. Parmentier won 64 percent of her total service points and saved nine of her 12 break points. Parmentier continues to serve at a very high level and is coming off a match in which she had 10 aces. As long as Parmentier continues to get free points and dominate her first serve, she has to like her chances to win this title. Parmentier hopes to win her second final of the year and the fourth of her career. Parmentier is 3-0 in previous final appearances. Parmentier has won five of her last six matches on indoor hard court.

Jessica Pegula is coming off a three sets win over Sofia Kenin that took 28 games to decide. In the victory, Pegula won 73 percent of her first serve points and 40 percent of her second serve points. Pegula won 60 percent of her total service points and broke on five of her 12 break points. Pegula showed great fight after dropping the first set and managed to win a match despite being a +170 underdog. Pegula has now won 12 of her last 14 sets when you include qualifying, and she has a shot to win this match if she continues to give herself so many looks at break points. However, nerves could be an issue for the 24-year-old New Yorker, given that she’s never been on this stage before. Pegula has a chance to win her first ever WTA final, and this is her first ever final appearance in the main draw. Pegula has won six straight matches on indoor hard court.
These two have played once, which was in ITF play back in 2012, but it resulted in a walkover.
Both of these players have turned their season around the last couple of weeks, and this is a big moment for Pegula, as she has a chance to get the biggest win of her career up to this point. However, Parmentier has been serving out of her mind recently and that’s going to be key to victory. In big points, I trust Parmentier to get the job done with her serve more than I trust Pegula. Parmentier also has a clear experience edge in this match.
Parmentier wins her fourth career title.
