Kei Nishikori will begin his 2018 ATP Paris Masters campaign in the second round where he will face Adrian Mannarino from France.

Adrian Mannarino opening his tournament with a win of Ugo Humbert. Mannarino won in straight sets as he broke his opponents serve 3 times while winning all of his own service games. It was very impressive watching Mannarino serve as he won close to 80% of the points played during his serve while having a first serve percentage of only 67%. This was impressive as it illustrated the great strength Adrian Mannarino possess on his second serve. Adrian Mannarino enters this tournament in good form as he finished second at the ATP Kremlin Cup two weeks ago. With the home crowd on his side, Adrian Mannarino will be confident heading into this match.

Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

On the other side of the coin, Kei Nishikori has also been playing some very good tennis. Since the US Open, Kei Nishikori has finished second at the Vienna Open and the Japan Open while making the semifinals at the Moselle Open and the quarterfinals at the Shanghai Masters. Nishikori has made it to the quarterfinals or further in every tournament he has played since the start of the US Open. Furthermore, Nishikori also had a very strong US Open campaign as he made the semifinals of that tournament. Nishikori has a good record at Paris as he made the semifinals of this tournament in 2014. With such a strong run of form and a great history at this event, Kei Nishikori will be very hard to stop.

This will be the first time that Adrian Mannarino and Kei Nishikori will be playing each other at an ATP event.

While Adrian Mannarino has been playing well, I think he will lose. Kei Nishikori has been in exceptional form and he is ranked amongst the best players in the world. With a great amount of experience at this tournament, I see Kei Nishikori winning this match and making it into the third round of the tournament.
